Heres how it worked: They showed more positive, happy posts in some users streams and more negative, unhappy ones in others. The idea was to see if this would influence those users own proportion of positive or negative posts based on whether theyd been exposed to glee or woe.... ...and heres what they found about whether emotional states can go viral across a social network.... .....They can! This finding was considered great news for facebook data scientists hoping to prove a point about modern psychology. However, slightly, uhhhh, less great for the people having their emotions secretly manipulated by hidden persuaders. :poop:
