The merger of Comcast and Time Warner will have a 33% market share of cable services in the United States. Seeing as how cable is no longer limited to tv, but includes telecom and internet services, they will be a majority player when it comes to communications in this country. Comcast has been known to choke the internet, limiting the transmission of data by quantity and content. The fact that they own NBC-Universal means that they also control the content of the news that is shared on that network. This is not good for our democracy, not at all. Let your Congressional delegation know how you feel about this merger, as well as our local Utilities and Transportation Commission.
