The merger of Gainesville State and Dahlonega has caused a massive headache for students and faculty, and I have yet to see any sort of benefit. They claim that all of the campuses are a part of the same university, but thats inaccurate. The only way that we are the same is that students at the Gainesville campus will now have to pay higher tuition fees. If we try to take advantage of any benefits, the students are punished. For example- I transitioned to the Dahlonega campus this summer. Im not allowed to register until April 16th, when official registration began March 31st. 90% of the classes I had planned to take are full, with the rest being one or two students away from capacity. I am nine credit hours from being considered a Junior, its not as if I have a lot of classes that would be beneficial to me. On top of this, they REFUSE to offer me any sort of assistance, just say oh, sorry. and treat me like Im lower than the dirt underneath their nails. The only thing they care about is getting your money. If they would at least offer some sort of advice or help, it would be understandable but they dont. And I can make all the complaints I want, but they couldnt care less because all the administration at this school sees is dollar signs. They could not care less about their students and our education. University of North Georgia UNG - University of North Georgia
