The military Thursday denied the rumour making the rounds that soldiers stationed at the border of Ondo and Ekiti States barred Governor of River State, Hon Rotimi Amaechi from entering Ekiti State, and also disallowed the Governors of Sokoto and Kano States, Aliyu Wamakko and Rabiu Kwankwaso from landing at Akure Airports for the APC rally in Ado- Ekiti. They were due to attend a political rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Ekiti to support Fayemis reelection bid. During the rally, the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and the Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun accused the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government for allegedly misusing the security agencies against the people of the country. Also, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Rocha Okorocha, Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun and a chieftain of the party, Audu Ogbeh, urged Nigerians to resist the PDP’s efforts at plunging the country into anarchy.
