The military using its assets to work with civilian law enforcement. Most military units and organizations find ways to grow their budgets, staff, and mission; Naval Criminal Investigative Service, though largely manned by civilians and reservists, is no exception to this rule. Mission creep may see its way, not just in the investigation of cybercrimes, but in border security, and any criminal investigation involving surveillance. Posse comitatus was a reaction to using the military to enforce law in the West, and I hope a similar backlash will come as a response to such military overreach as this. Semper Fi, Mc
