The million Mask Mark this week, across the world (including Scotland). It amazing how the Guy Fawkes/ V for Vendetta mask has become basic gear for protestors now. The reports often say: Demonstrators wearing Guy Fawkes masks - made famous in the film V for Vendetta Obviously us clever comic book folk know the design is originally from Alan Moore and David Llyods comic of the same name. So if the revolution succeeds will the Guy Fawkes/ V for Vendetta face be used as THE British symbol? We might see it on the pound note? On official flags? On our passports? Its already THE symbol for protest and revolution, overtaking the Anarchist A on O symbol (though not replacing it, they go together as this photo shows). Is this the greatest influence or widest use that any comic book symbol has ever had? (or maybe Batman and Superman are still just ahead? ) millionmaskmarch
