The mistake we seldom make is: We envy the lives of others and feel like what they have is unattainable for people like us. So we tag what they have as Dreams, when most times, if only wed put a little bit more effort into pursuing what we want, we could be those people. When youre 21 nobody tells you how to be rich, influential or successful. The surety is: If you go to school, you could and would be a somebody. That somebody still, is subject to interpretation. So where do we draw the line between dreams and reality. When do we finally come to believing that what they have, we could have, and even more. We seldom find ourselves in our thirtys realizing that, and even up until our fortys. We wake up one fine morning, when the birds are singing, the toads croaking by the lake, and the buses honing outside our window. We stand up, stare at the perfectly blue sky, and there and then we realize: We could have written about mornings as these. Perhaps the beauty in those words may have traveled a distance, across the pacific, through the sahara, and down into the hearts of old people reading in their retirement homes.
