The most amazing thing happened on Tuesday.We were at Barnstondale which was an organised summer event for safe_image_014Ferries Family groups. Ewan was chatting away to our lovely Elaine when he decided he would wave and say “Hello.” I nearly fell over!! This may be a very insignificant thing to many but to me it was huge. Ewan is seven, nearly eight and has never to that day said hello and waved to anyone. Then he said goodbye and waved when we left too. I think Ewan has never seen the point of hello and goodbye. He also never says night night either. Maybe he has just clicked. Autistic kids miss social cues but somehow this cue has all of a sudden dawned on him. We had a fabulous day out at Barnstondale. Ewan especially liked making the keyrings and the barbeque lunch!!
