The most fascinating read of the day, hands down: Drama around the Cake! Note to self when I open up a bakery: When I make a boo-boo/dont make a boo-boo, but somebodys unhappy and paid $66 for it: just say Sorry and give a refund. Gross price of that cake is $5 in materials anyway. p.s. I put my 5 cents into discussion mostly because I loath when scientific lingo is misused and thrown around without any consideration, but i digress. Actually Cake Ocassions in their response twisting facts. They stated that you claim they give your child a food poisoning. You never said that. You said there is a THREAT of food poisoning. Now, on top of that they have serious problem with math and understanding how statistics works. They took a hypothetical chance of getting a food poison (which is in their opinion 1 in 20,000. I would like to see data and original source on that) and try to make it dependent on amount of egg used and number of pieces cut . they claim that they use 2 eggs and 7oz of egg white. I would love to see how this influences the chance of getting Salmonella poisoning. If i use 2 eggs and 6oz would my chances go up or down? While you are at it, please explain to me, how 48 pieces play part into it? unless egg white and 2 eggs where not mixed in, but randomly inserted into seldom 48 pieces, where is logic? :)) CDC posts an open access data on their website (cdc.gov/features/foodborne-diseases-data/) and one thing for certain that 34% of all illnesses related to food are salmonella-originated. and that is something to be scary about when you order cake anywhere and should be taken very seriously Oh, one more piece of advise while I am at it: Conduct your business with grace and DONT touch statistics if you dont know how to handle it... Cheers! Dana
