The most heart broken i have ever felt in a long time! Coming home - TopicsExpress

The most heart broken i have ever felt in a long time! Coming home tonight after a good night catching up with family, me and my cousins Michael Leota-Lu & Junior Leituala witness on the way home a old islander man about the age of 50 eating out of the rubbish bin in a shopping centre. For a minute we sat and watched if he really was and i couldnt believe what i had seen. I couldnt hold back my tears as i thought of my Dad straight away. I jumped out and spoke to him while everyone just stared and looked at him wrong. He told me he was hungry & thirsty, so i brought him some food and gave the bit of money i had on me. He said thank you and told me i made his day with tears in his eyes. Little did he know he made my day! He was dirty from head to toe with rip clothes & dry blood on him that look like he had on him for days from the scars on the palm of his hand. Cousin then told me hes always there eating peoples unfinished food & left overs that get thrown away and hes there 24/7 & no one seems to care cause they all use to seeing him do what he does. Regardless of his reasons of where hes at and why, i could never watch or see anyone in such a situation like that and not do something at least. Tonight Im reminded to never take what we have for granted. The food, clothes, jobs & families we complain about everyday is what someone else out there is wishing they had. Be grateful for what we have.
