The most interesting aspect of being a writer (or a human being, I guess) from my point of view is when you have an idea and youre struggling to put it into words. The idea exists, you can feel it in the depths of your mind, but you cant express what it is, even to yourself. Its big and complex and completely foreign to what we usually think of as thoughts , and that terrifies and excites me. The fact that we can have ideas that are not words, are not images, are not feelings or smells or tastes but instead are made up of pure concept, struggling to express itself in a way your conscious mind can interpret and grasp. That feeling you get when youre grasping at straws, trying to find any toehold so that you can understand what your mind is trying to say. Youre putting forth effort, but its a type of effort unlike any other, and it is beautiful.
