The music of Stevie Ray Vaughan changed my life. Tonight, Im listening and remembering one of the greatest guitarists to ever pick up the instrument. Stevie died on 8/27/90 in a helicopter crash near Mt. Rushmore in WI. Im not sure the blues genre has ever recovered from the shock of losing him in that tragic accident. I was able to visit the El Macambo club in Toronto, Canada in 1998...a spot that was frequented by Stevie Ray and The Rolling Stones. You could almost hear the Fender Vibrolux amp resonating out of the walls... If you have time this holiday weekend, check out this entire performance of SRV at The El Mocambo.
