The new Star Wars cast has been announced, and yes, it includes original stars HARRISON FORD, CARRIE FISHER and MARK HAMILL. Also returning are PETER MAYHEW as Chewbacca, ANTHONY DANIELS as C3PO and LITTLE KENNY BAKER as R2-D2. As for NEW cast members, theyve got the LEGENDARY MAX VON SYDOW from The Exorcist, Minority Report and Swedish art house classics like The Seventh Seal, The Virgin Spring and Hour of the Wolf. Although more important than any of that, Max played Ming the Merciless in the CLASSIC 1980 film version of Flash Gordon . . . and Brewmeister Smith in the Bob & Doug McKenzie movie Strange Brew. (???) Also joining the Star Wars universe is ANDY SERKIS, who played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies . . . and ADAM DRIVER, who plays LENA DUNHAMS boyfriend on HBOs Girls. Theres no word who any of the new cast members are playing. Heres who was NOT announced: Lando Calrissean himself, BILLY DEE WILLIAMS!!! Thats right . . . Star Wars 7 will NOT have the smooth flavor of a cold Colt 45, which is a TRAGEDY. Also, nobody from the prequels, which means no EWAN MCGREGOR dishing out advice as a ghost Obi Wan. Unless of course theyre holding on to these guys for later. They could still join the cast . . . or even show up in the 8th or 9th movies. The official Star Wars Facebook page posted a picture of the new cast chillin on some living room furniture. It features director J.J. ABRAMS talking to Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher next to new cast member DAISY RIDLEY, a ponytailed Peter Mayhew reading his script while wearing a Rebel Alliance polo shirt, and Hamill chatting with Von Sydow.
