The new law is until the child is 4 9 and 80-100 pounds they are to be in a booster seat in the car or the proper carseat for their height and weight. I was under the impression it was until a set weight typically found in seven year olds but either way it is important to have your child in the proper restraints in the car for their weight not age because the childs restraints are based on weight not their age! It is about their safety regardless of personal feelings on child carseats/booster chairs and it has changed in the state of Florida and although your child may have been the proper weight before to not be in a child restraint seat, they may be required to be in one now. Know the new law and proper restraints appropriate for their height and weights.
