The new mantra for millennials, such as myself, is not the linear American dream of our parents or grandparents, aka do everything right, get good grades, you will succeed but rather as hard as I work, and I work very hard, I have to accept that things may not work out as no one is invincible in this economy so the best route is to not focus on the destination but to enjoy the journey Im happy that New York Times published an article different than all the rest that Ive read so far. Finally an article that puts my generations experiences into context, and justifies the way we make decisions / think / act the way we do. were cynical, were risk takers and were looking for fulfillment. In context, its more than narcissism.
