The new tribalism of the US. This is a great observation. Takes me back to my work in the military, HTS and Iraq and Afghanistan. The difference is that in these ancient cultures, they have formed ways for the tribes to work together and there are acceptable and encouraged methods for reaching consensus, resolving conflict and moving forward. Tribalism in the US is new and unformed, and we have yet to reach the maturity to do this. So both sides make demands and then throw down their toys and go home when there isnt 100% capitulation. We have a lot to learn from ancient tribes, who had no Constitution, but managed to work together all the same. Sadly, along with tribalism comes extremism, religious, political and economic, and it is on display daily. I fear American is devolving.
