The news of the ongoing onslaught by the military on Boko Haram - TopicsExpress

The news of the ongoing onslaught by the military on Boko Haram strongholds is very uplifting. I commend the joint efforts of the Airforce and the Army for a job well done and it is my firm belief that if they maintain this barrage of attacks, the militant wing of this evil sect would be wiped out for good. I pray for the repose of the souls of all those that have lost their lives to Boko Haram. May their murderers never know peace. Now that were getting close to victory, it would sadden my heart if the refugees fleeing the crossfire are not being properly taken care of. The North-East has suffered extensively from raids, kidnappings, robberies and fatal attacks over the years. The economy of these people have been destroyed. People have been displaced from their residences and places of abode. To avert further disaster, The National Emergency Management Association(NEMA) should provide temporary settlements and distribute relief materials to the displaced. Corporate organizations should be encouraged to donate food and other items to these people. There is also the probability that fleeing sect members would try to mingle with the civilian population to escape arrest. Civilians must be encouraged to pass information that could be used to arrest terrorists and their helpers. The government also has a lot of work to do. Those lending political and financial support to Boko Haram must be rounded up and prosecuted. Foreign affiliations should be thoroughly investigated. Boko Haram is beyond the poverty-stricken, disillusioned youth that is bearing arms. Some enemies of Nigeria are brainwashing these youths for their evil gain. They should be exposed and prosecuted. This war hasnt been an easy one for our troups. Theyve been tainted with so many bad eggs. They have been deprived of much needed weaponry. They have had their morale deflated. They have suffered defeat so many times. They have taken a lot of bashing from the public, especially on the various social media platforms. These are people with families. They need our collective support. We shouldnt wait till they die in battle before we remember them. We neednt wait until the Armed Forces Rememberance Day before we encourage our troops. As busy as the President of USA is, he visited the American troops in Afghanistan. The sacrifice of the soldiers to protect and defend their country should be repayed with commitment on the part of the government to improving the soldiers welfare and taking care of their families. May God bless Nigeria. May the enemies of Nigeria be destroyed.
