The news we released today regarding striker George Bisans try out with top Thai club BEC Tero Sasana, has posed a lot of questions from concerned Crown fans, so head coach Sam Schweingruber offered up this view: “Phnom Penh Crown were very lucky to get George for last season. He was not valued and appreciated by Boeung Ket and that was our chance. George helped us win the league, and we will never forget or undervalue his contribution. I personally promised him that if he played to his best and was our top scorer, and if we were champions, that I would help him get a try out in a bigger league. So I personally helped connect him to BEC Tero. George is ready for a bigger challenge and deserves a better salary then what a club in Cambodia at this stage can offer. He needs to try to see if he is good enough for Thailand after 3 very strong seasons in Cambodia. We don’t want George to leave - but we are proud that a very strong team is interested in him and gives him a chance for a try out to see at what level he is at right now. Should he be successful and get a contract at BEC we will miss him, but we have time to find the best possible replacement. Should he not have a successful test, we will certainly be sad for him but very happy to have George score more goals for us in the upcoming season. We want the best for every one of our players.
