The next three days of hiking up steep terrain through small mountain villages on our way to Chame. Nepals crazy monsoon seasons bring a lot of landslides so they are constantly rebuilding the path through the mountain. Because of this, we sometimes had to use the road and share it with the crazy jeep drivers. Using the path was my favorite though. It gave us the chance to see the local culture and how people make a living. My first picture show three women carrying bags of rice weighing 60 lbs up the mountain stairs back to their village. You saw this kind of thing often. People from Nepal work very hard. A few interesting facts about Nepal: Nepal opened its borders to tourism in the 1950s. It houses 8 of the 10 tallest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest. Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hilary were the first documented to climb all 29,029 feet of Mt Everest. In Nepal, they dont shake hands, they put their palms together and say Namaste or Namaskar.
