The ninety-fourth word in Scripture, “sheb-ee-ee” seven, seventh. The number seven takes on a very unique position of significance in creation and in the Bible. In creation the seventh day was a day for rest. The calendar was built around weeks with seven days, even to this day. There are many symbolic references to the number seven in both the Old and New Testaments. Generally the number seven is a picture of completion. Jesus tells the soon to be Apostle Peter, in Matthew 18:21-22, “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how many times could my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” “I tell you, not as many as seven,” Jesus said to him, “but 70 times seven.”
