The number of people with an autoimmune disease is about double that of cancer. Autoimmune diseases are when the body mistakes healthy cells for unhealthy cells and attacks itself to protect the body against invaders. There are more than 100 autoimmune diseases. The best known examples are Crohns disease, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and Graves disease. One debated cause is the amount of chemicals in our bodies.
