The old PDP is still on their feet on ensuring decorum in the party. This is in light of the fact that the ruling party which clocked 15 year recently was fractionated by some Northern governors alongside their commander, Atuku Abubakar. The feud however happened when the old PDP tried to preempt the various delegates that came to vote during the special convention in Abuja recently. GEJ and his cohorts, having conspicuously perceived that the governors that went rogue are fed up with them, tried to stop the delegates from voting and instead, organized different people to replace the already-selected ones from the various northern states. With that in mind, the old PDP would win easily hitherto the shocking decision by the G7 to leave the convention venue to proclaim an open war. Several meetings held yielded no fruit as the terms and conditions given were strictly rejected by the President and instead he insinuated that Obasanjo is behind all the crisis and he should be the one to iron it up. The new faction wants the President to step down in compliance of the agreement he signed, warranting him to rule for only a single term. They also requested the immediate sacking of Bamanga Tukur as National Chairman. What GEJ failed to realize is that, his Political God-father, Obasanjo, tried relentlessly, although unsuccessfully to remain in Aso Rock for another term, only for his decision to be rejected by all and sundry despite his strong influence and political intellectualism. Today again, instead of the PDP to keep arranging meetings that would ensure the party is been stitched, they embarked in a move to seal the secretariat of the new PDP to add salt to injury. As various signs have shown, the umbrella is leaking while the APC moving train prevails. With huge apathy towards the PDP nation-wide, the fractionalisation of the PDP and the unprecedented merger that culminated into the APC, it appears that the hope of reclaiming another term in 2015 for the PDP is really suffering a huge dash. While the G7 will be busy canvassing and making arrangements for their new faction, the APC will have a less work to do. The next coming months would decide the faith of the next general elections.
