The old Theatre Royal, Mosley Street 1827, and Drury Lane, Mosley Street 1967. Near to the junction of Mosley Street and Grey Street there is a narrow lane leading via a sharp bend to the Cloth Market, in this lane named after the famous London theatrical street, where entrance to our original Theatre Royal was built in 1788. It was later demolished by Richard Grainger in 1832 along with the Flesh or Meat Market to make way for Grey Street, Grainger built the new Theatre Royal on Grey Street and the new Flesh or Meat and Veg Market which is now our Grainger Market all built in 1833.
