The old nation of Islam under the leadership of Elijah Muhammad was powerful, unique, progressive, and evolutionary. The NOI was a organization and movement way ahead of its time in all aspects across the board. They took broken, drug addicted, unskilled and untrained men and women; cleaned them up, shaped and molded them into highly disciplined, well-refined, and useful people. Gave these people jobs, homes, and purpose in life. I have nothing but the up most respect for the old NOI, pure love and admiration. Even despite the fact they replaced one white savior with another in the form of master Fard Muhammad; but i understood why Elijah Muhammad came to put his face as God, it was vital and needed to be done; black people still somewhat fresh off the plantation still engraved with that slave mindset, raised and bred to look upon the white man as lord God and savior. You couldnt just strip that away in one swoop and expect Masses of black people to fall in line, you had to ease them off the religious heroin, going cold Turkey was not an option; and Elijah Muhammad was intelligent enough to see this, and so he gave the Muslims of The NOI a so-called half breed savior, a step closer to the real truth. I am overjoyed and fill with gratitude by the old NOI and their endeavors eventhough they kept a form of religious doctrine apart of their teachings and way of life. But again, i can see what Elijah Muhammad was doing; he understood the dangers of Christianity and the mental spell it had black people under. He foresaw that in order to advance our people They had to be removed from religion, so his brilliance used the cloak of Islam to hide the teachings and doctrine of Masonry, which was based upon the ancient Egyptian mystery systems; our original customs and teachings. In fact, Elijah Muhammad brought us closer to the truth than weve ever been in 6,000 years with a modernize formulation of it. He knew black people needed discipline and a code of conduct. A set of restrictive laws to follow and keep; and this unorthodox form of Islam was the perfect vessel to do it. I am honored and amazed by the works of the old NOI under Elijah Muhammad. Not only did they lay strong foundations for a nation-state, set up businesses, establish temples, and purchase property; but Elijah Muhammad paved the way for Dr. York and his Nuwaubian Nation to follow, and also inspired The Intellectual Nuben Menkarayzz and his Future of Mentellect (FOM ). Lastly, Elijah Muhammad always said God came in the personage of a man, that man is Ahmen (amun/amen/amon). Where else on the planet did they revere and give homage to the blackman being God other than ancient Egypt where the king of the Gods was called Amen!
