The only downside to growing up with open-minded and accepting friends and family, is how naive you become about the existence of negative people. Today I was shopping at save-a-lot and there was this woman yelling at this man, who was talking on the phone in a different language, that people shouldnt leave their own country, and that Jesus doesnt approve. Aside from the fact that this doesnt make much sense, I just cant believe people can be that rude and just plan racist. Just because someone speaks another language, doesnt mean they shouldnt live in this country, and if people never left their countries of origin, then none of us would be here because our ancestors came here from all over the world. I told the woman that was checking me out about this lady, and she said she agrees with her and there is nothing she can do. This honestly just blew my mind! Am I crazy, or even if she did agree, shouldnt she do her best to deal with it since it is upsetting customers? When I told her to tell management, she said they wouldnt do anything. Im so glad I was raised and am surrounded by people who dont judge other for where they are from...Everyone should have to chance to live here if they please. END RANT.
