The only reason we have the current Crimea crisis is that the West, without a second of hesitation, approved the overthrow of a democratically-elected government in Ukraine. Had the West taken a second to think it through, there would have been plenty of scope to agree on constitutional reforms with Russia. This does not give Russia [the right] to act the way they are, but explains why. - Some smart dude named Tomas in Tokyo. The exact same could be said about Egypt. We should have done more to support the Muslim Brotherhood, as imperfect as they were, in the name of democracy.
