The only thing worse then Mayweather and Pacquiao fans are Tyson - TopicsExpress

The only thing worse then Mayweather and Pacquiao fans are Tyson fans. I love Tyson ,I was the biggest fan ever bordering on obsessed with him as a kid. I also saw the good in the man outside of the ring and felt he was so mistreated and abused like a dog his entire life and finally others are seeing the goodness in Tyson as well. All that being said I also am a realist and can draw a line in the sand calling it how it is . Tyson was an excellent fighter who never lived up to, His potential. He was on the road to becoming not only one of the greatest heavyweights of all time but one of the greatest fighters of all time. He of course blew all of that both in and out of the ring. I cant tell u how often i read that Tyson is either the greatest heavyweight ever or Tyson would knockout both Klitchko brothers in the same night or Tyson would beat Ali. How many times Ive read fans say he beats both lewis and Holyfield in his prime and only lost to them because he was shot. And my favorite is how Tyson would have never lost if Cus didnt die ( Tyson was 8-0 when Cus died and didnt lose Until his 38th pro fight. What Mike Tyson was was the most exciting heavyweight that ever lived , that does not translate to the greatest or one of the greatest. He was not even an all time top ten heavy. Could of , should of, would of but was not. Ali , Louis , Dempsey, Johnson , Marciano , Holmes , Foreman , Holyfield , lewis and both Klitschko brothers are all before then regardless of the order from an all time great stand point. Frazier and Norton are most likely above him as well . On top of that head to head he could never beat Ali , Foreman , a prime Holmes , Holyfield , Lewis and Vitali Klitchko. He is fifty fifty fifty with Vlad and Joe Louis, Marciano and Frazier are all very close to fifty fifty fights as well. Tyson was pure fantasy and eye candy who got our imaginations running wild with the way he destroyed men in the ring. The anticipation of a Tyson fight was like nothing most of us every experienced but people allow all this to cloud there judgement on the man and his career. Holyfield and Lewis had his number and would have beaten him 9 out of ten times , foreman would have literally bounced him around the ring like a hand ball. Vitali was just way to much man for him and forget about what Ali would have done to Mike mentally even before they reached the ref for instructions in the middle of the ring. I love Tyson and wish he would have given him self a better chance to go on to the Mount Rushmore of heavyweights but he didnt and even if he had there is no telling he would have been good enough as there was a serious crop of heavies named Bowe , Lewis ,Moorer, Morrison and Mercer coming along after the 1988 Olympics to replace the watered down division that Tyson ruled in the mid and late 80s. He would have never beaten Lewis, lewis was just to good and had no fear of Tyson but Bowe and Mercer style wise would have given him fits as well. Lets not forget Holyfield and the comeback beast that was foreman were now around in 1990 and forward . Chances are even if he made a great comeback after losing to Douglas and never went to prison he gets picked off by a couple of these guys outside of Lewis , Holyfield and foreman who he could never have beaten regardless. Mayweather and Pacquiao fans are the most biased ones around but pound for pound ,fighter for fighter Tyson fans blow them away with there misinformed , biased , fantasy island thoughts. All that be said I LOVE MIKE TYSON but he wasnt on the level we all wish he was .....the most exciting heavyweight ever and the fantasy of what could have become of him if he kept it all together outside of the ring will for ever be an intriguing subject matter ....but most times fantasy is more exciting and then reality
