The opportunity to become one of 50 new police community support officers (PCSOs) patrolling across the West Midlands closes at midday on Monday 7th October. PCSOs will be recruited to cover local neighbourhood teams in Coventry, Birmingham City Centre, Solihull, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. The force is keen to recruit from across all communities in the West Midlands and anyone aged over 18 is invited to apply via the recruitment section on the force’s website. Those who apply to become a PCSO will undergo a seven week intensive training programme, followed by a probationary period. It is expected that the new recruits will be in post by March 2014.
