The organiser of an appeal to fund a viewing platform for Orkneys biggest archaeological dig says shes been astonished at the response from businesses and members of the public. Caz Mamwell set up the Justgiving webpage earlier this week, with the aim of raising two thousand pounds to fund the scaffolding - which in the past has been paid for by sponsorship. By last night the target had been reached. With the page remaining live for another 27 days its planned to use any further money raised to go towards a platform in 2015. Caz says that excavation director Nick Card has promised that if it reaches the £4000 mark hell do all the site tours wearing his kilt.... now theres an incentive!
