The original intent of Chocolate Socrates was to share my thoughts, which are philosophical in nature. The word Chocolate, symbolizes my dark skin complexion, and the kind of complexity that exist within things that are dark. For example, if we are not born within the light, we are born in the darkness. And within this darkness lies our fears, our uncertainties, our insecurities etc. Now, Socrates was a wise man, because he knew that he knew nothing. Likewise, I do not assert that I know anything, but that though much of anything I discuss can be measured as nothing, I ask for anyone who frequents this site to realize that, there is a sort of dialogue I want to create within each of you. That is, that it is within this darkness that I seek to teach each of you how to raise one’s thoughts to the light; for I too was born of the dark. This is neither to say that I am no longer of the dark, nor to say that I am of the light. This is to say that, there exist a light, a light which shines through the dark. Now, I am not a teacher of the light, I am a teacher for the one who seeks to journey with me from the Darkness to the Light. The Light is it’s own thing. Chocolate Socrates is to be the Philosopher of a Generation, he belongs to nothing. He is nothing. He simply acts as an objective witness to the state of the human condition. An Impartial Judge on the matters that will persist far beyond his death, he raises his voice in dissent and consent to act as a scale without a balance. We are all philosophers until we die, the conscious person is a thinker, so there should never be a reason for a person to fear what one is, and the words that should come out of one’s mouth.(Unless one is a liar). Within our minds we are called to question everything, and weigh the truth of what we have lead ourselves to believe, otherwise we will suffer the consequences of our opinions. For no matter what sort of realities we have created for ourselves, and no matter what illusions we have given ourselves a sense of security in, we must remember that our lives as is our thoughts, can either be death of us, or the life of us.
