The other day I was put to the test in a big way! Without getting into the details I will just say this. I ended a cycle of verbal abuse that had gone on for way to long! A few days ago I was speaking to someone on the phone. Within a matter of seconds, a one sided screaming match full of this person shouting the F--- word was going on. What happened next SHOCKED me! I pulled over along the side of the road and in a calm voice, I demanded an apology...and I actually got one! I dont toss the word abuse around lightly, at all! One thing I will say is this. Abuse comes in different forms! I know this first hand! If you were to line people up and ask them what hurts worse, physical or verbal abuse, I guarantee you that many would say that verbal abuse can have an even longer lasting effect! After all, bruises heal but words can never be taken back, they scar ones heart forever! One thing I know for sure is if you are told over and over again that you are a spoiled b---- a manipulator or that everything you do you are doing the wrong way than why would you feel worthy of love from anyone else? After a while it can cause a person to feel that they need validation from the verbal abuser! One can and often does become dependent upon this persons opinion of them when in reality, it doesnt matter at all. The only thing that matters is that you stay as far away as possible from the abuser. Im posting this in the hopes that maybe just one person will read it and say NO MORE! Im posting this to let every single woman or man out there know that you NEVER have to put up with this type of behavior! EVER! Im posting this out of respect for a woman who is very close to my heart that also put up with this same bullshit for far to long! Im also posting this to everyone out there so they will know that once you walk away from the Co-dependancy, life is PURE BLISS!!!
