The other day as I heard that the head of the Police federation was protesting the use of body cameras (for whatever reason) I couldn’t help but think how “wuthliss” these men and women are, and whether there were in fact death squads in the Force. Imagine a chance for them to vindicate their actions and prove the veracity of their claims that they were being attacked and here they were protesting about who consulted whom and how the money could be better spent for their own selfish cause. If what was reported is in fact so, then I have to conclude that these people have no integrity and the head is worse. If I were mandated by my members to voice these protests I would rather resign than present them. Probably all they are interested in is their big fat pay package at the end of the month, and not the fact that they are held in such low esteem, the murder rate is so high and the number of cases solved remains so abysmally low. Has anyone ever tried to get the police to come to their house in an emergency? Either they have no vehicle or they turn up two or three days later. The other day a woman told me that as she entered her house she was held up at knifepoint by thugs and robbed and when she telephoned the police minutes after her ordeal was told that she would have to come to the station to make a report.
