The other day at work one of the lads said Wow Phil, have you seen the Chronicle today? I hadnt and asked why... he said oh, theres an amazing photo of Durham at night with all of the stars in the sky! Intrigued I went and had a look. Nice photo but its not real mate I said, its a composite. Dont be daft he said, whats a composite? I explained that theres no way you can see the Milky Way in Durham or any other city centre around but he wouldnt have it at first and I got the feeling he thought I was envious as he knows I do astro photography also. Now I do love composite images and use PS in all of my images but the people I know who do them always mention it from the off. I looked up the photo on Flickr but theres no mention of it being a composite and I cant believe the Chronicle put it in there.
