The other day my music theory prof made a side not during his lecture (Im paraphrasing), Something something something, by the way, one thing that pops up in music all the time is the mysterious golden rule (he was referring to Φ), people have found it in nature with things like seashells and leaves, and they also find it in music and cultures from all over the world. I think thats fascinating. This was an odd moment because I know EXACTLY what hes talking about. Ive watched viHarts videos about that stuff a million times. Im not gonna bore you with the details, but it boils down to this: When some number pops up all over the place and it looks like magic, its not magic at all, youre just missing important information. PS: yknow how humans kinda naturally love the pentatonic scale? WELL GUESS WHAT. mastay.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Phi-in-pentagon.png BAM.
