The other day, we received a call on Sebs phone from a home - TopicsExpress

The other day, we received a call on Sebs phone from a home security company. Sometimes, these calls are coming from sales/marketing firms for legit companies, but on occasion scammers/thieves have used this method to screen for the presence of a security system to determine whether or not to target your home. Because Seb wasnt sure what to say, he handed the phone off to me. The woman on the other end was speaking English, but with a fairly heavy accent, so immediately my guard was up. She asked, Do you currently have a home security system? My response was, We are our own security system. She then asked again, But do you have a monitored system in place for your home? Again, I said, We are our own security system. I could tell by the change of tone in her voice that she was obviously agitated with my response when she said, You are NOT understanding my question. I replied, Oh, I fully understood your question. Perhaps youre not understanding my answer, so let me elaborate. We ARE our OWN security system... and we have plenty of ammo. We look forward to someone entering our home, uninvited. Please. Do you understand my answer, now? She hung up. If youre interested in purchasing a monitored home security package for your home, YOU contact a legitimate company and proceed from there. DO NOT give any information to a random caller regarding your home and make sure you talk to your kids about this, as well. With the direct threat to military families coming from ISIS, recently, we didnt take any chances... nor should you. The best home defense system is and will ALWAYS be an ARMED YOU.
