The other film released late in 1984 (December to be exact) was the Eddie Murphy big hit comedy, Beverly Hills Cop that gave us four, yes, four big hit songs -- all that went into the Top 5 on Billboard Magazines HOT 100 charts and that would last in the HOT 100 until the end of the summer of 1985 and from a diverse group of artists. A matter of fact, for a film that was released in December of the previous year, it was unique that the soundtrack album would get to #1 on Billboard Magazines TOP 200 album chart for the two weeks of June 22nd to July 5th, 1985 proving how great this album and film truly was. The first of those hits was from Patti LaBelle who took to #2 the song, New Attitude. That was followed by The Pointer Sisters Neutron Dance which had the Pointers as a ushers at a theatre where the movie was playing and Bronson Pinchot (who we would soon learn as a household name via his role starting the following year in the ABC-TV sitcom, Perfect Strangers) playing their boss. Although I know someone else earlier this evening posted the video for Neutron Dance, Im going to post it here again with the other four hits. The next hit from the film came to us from former Eagles member, Glenn Frey, with his highest charting hit at #3, The Heat Is On. Also going to #3 in the states, from this film, was German born producer of the album, Harold Faltermeyers instrumental classic, Axel F:
