The other night I parallel parked into a foreboding tight spot so well, so so well, that a group of beer-drinking dudes outside Wurstkuche stood up and started clapping for me when I got out of Jadens Honda. I saw them looking at me as I attempted the maneuver and they were half-smiling and I thought, great, heres an audience of men eating sausages and laughing at me and my attempt to park and my life is worthless and they know it- but I was wrong! And when I got out and they stood up and smiled and clapped I realized they were rooting for me the entire time, and I thought wow, this is what Kobe Bryant must feel like, or Richard Branson, or Charlie, from Charlie bit my finger (I just watched the video again, its really nice). But then I got a little sad because I had done something truly great and I only had strangers as witnesses. What about my mom and dad who wondered what kind of son I would become? What about the rugged men I know, will they believe me if I tell the story later? Where were the beautiful ladies whove had feelings for me in the past but also questioned it and wondered, is this the kind of guy that can support us if we had a family? Yes he has beautiful eyes but if were going to Whole Foods and theres only a tiny parking spot that most mild mannered men would shy away from, could he make it? Yes, ladies. I could. I can. I will. (Shout out to all the Davis Law alumns who migrated east for their 30s to be beautiful and successful in New York- come Los Angeles, the weathers warm and theres many more where George Clooney came from) I feel silly gushing like this on Facebook, but youre allowed to, once a year, when something truly marvelous happens. May my victories give you courage. Happy Friday!
