The other night I was conversing with my sisters Japanese friend - TopicsExpress

The other night I was conversing with my sisters Japanese friend and it emersed that Im shy, and I explained in a short way that sll my life Ive been big and I havent really ever been used tp the visibility that it brings. Now, obviously the longer explanstion involves more my self esteem issues because of bullying etc. But thats not really important right now. What is is that after she got this explained typ her via translation she looked at me with an expression of confusion and said: Why? Why make yourself smaller? Big is good! This has stuck in my mind a bit. To her being big in any way, length or width, was not a bad thing. She couldnt grasp the concept. So, was that a personal or cultural thing? Are we as a society in the west stigmatiding being big? Am I thinking way too much about this? Probably, but even so.
