The owner of our handsome Kelpie boy was not found. After a dog or cat has been impounded for 8 days or more and an owner has not been able to be found Council becomes the owner. As most of you would be aware we have a Section 84 agreement under the Domestic Animals Act with Save-A-Dog scheme to rehome unclaimed dogs from the Mitchell Pound. Well we are pleased to announce that we now also have an agreement with Australian Working Dog Rescue. AWDRI have been rescuing and rehoming working dogs across Australia for 7 years now. They are a respected rehoming organisation with the special experience needed to make the perfect match for working breeds. They have an extensive foster care network across Australia. We are very pleased to add them to our approved rescue list. At lunch time today the Fawn Kelpie was collected by Andrea who foster cares for AWDRI.
