The painful eye-infection, CONJUNCTIVITIS popularly known as Joy Bangla has hit the city. This is a painful viral infection of the eye. The symptoms are :i) Redness of the eye, ii) Stinging pain in the eye, iii) Blurred vision in the infected eye. The best treatment is, splashing water in the eye, as many times as possible. Normally, medicines/eye-drops are of not much use as this infection will stay for 2-3 days do what you may ! If you contemplate using any eye-drop, rose water is no less better than that. Some people suggest splashing the eye with salt mixed water while many suggest putting onion juice drops but I have never tested them and so should you not as eye is a delicate organ and any damage to it may result into irreversible damage. If you are infected and if it doesnt subside in 3 days, please consult your doctor. But remember, it is highly infectious. DO NOT RUB YOUR EYES AND IF AT ALL YOU DO, PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER THAT OR USE A HAND SANITISER OR ELSE YOU MAY PASS THE INFECTION TO OTHERS. And, keep in mind splashing the eyes with water is the best option as it decreases the viral count.
