The painful wait We all have prayed to Allah for guidance and miracles. We also have prayed to Allah for things that we have power to get by ourselves. Whatever the reason is for prayer, it is evident we want the help of our creator. We want the creator of the universe to bless us in the best possible way. After all, He created us and everything of this Universe. He created us with purpose and reason, and therefore, He knows best whats good for us. Why is Allah so silent all of a sudden? As believers, we are taught that we can move a mountain with great faith. We are taught that faith is believing without seeing. But how much faith do we really have. Have much do we really believe? Interestingly, we will truly know in time of greatest need. When the storm becomes great, it is only then that we become responsive and we show our true colors. We reveal our true nature to ourself. Our faith and character is painted in black and white. The greatest need is when the storm is great and God is distant. He is silent and it appears that we are on our own. But why is Allah distant and not helping us?As we develop a deeper relationship with Allah we become accustomed to his help. We get to know how great Allah is. He blesses us without asking us anything in return. Indeed He is a great Allah. But with every believer who gets to know Allah more and matures in faith to a greater degree, there will be a time of waiting. A time where Allah will seem distant and completely silent as if He did not exist. A time where no matter how hard we pray, we just dont receive an answer. Why does Allah do that? When silence is at its peak, Allah it doing a great work in you. He is teaching you patience, for without waiting, patience cannot be taught. When we pray to Allah for something, He merely gives us the opportunity for it. Silence may be the answer to our prayer. He is shaping our character. He is giving us wisdom. He is pruning us so we can blossom into greater beings. If silence is in your presence, consider it a blessing. Consider it an answer to a prayer, for without Allah working in you, you may not be ready to receive His answer and His best. Allah is silent because He knows our true nature. He knows our great strength. He trusts us. He knows our faith is great but it may need to be greater for the things He has prepared for us. And the only way to increase our faith is through silence.Silence encourages us to seek for answers. It gives us a reason to seek Allah more. And the more we seek Allah, the more we learn about ourselves. Through silence, we search for answers and lead to new beginnings. Silence may be the only thing that pushes us to a mission we wouldnt engage on if otherwise. Silence is the spark to a new journey. A journey of new knowledge that you need to experience and it is an opportunity to help others when their silence is great as well. Silence is a special time to reflect on your character and behavior. It allows you to work on your prideful and arrogant heart. It allows you to be silent and listen to yourself when you are too noisy for yourself and others with your bad character. Allahs silence in your life is of a great purpose. It allows you to work on prayer. While your intent is to get what you want, Allah works on your character to draw you nearer to Him. He shapes your character and faith. He builds your relationship with Him. He molds you to position you for greater revelations that He has prepared for you.Gods silence is purposeful. It allows us to work on ourselves. If He reveals to us His plans for our life, we may get scared or try to take control by ourselves. We are not ready to understand the whole plan nor can we know it all. But with Allah directing us every step with precise timing, it is guaranteed to be successful. Thats why silence is necessary. It ensures that the will of Allah will be done.Silence is also a test of faith. It is a great mark of those who have great belief in Him. For without testing, you wouldnt know your true self and embrace on the mission of Allah. Silence is a confidence builder. It reveals to you the strength and skills that you have, and it allows you to get better at them. Silence reveals to you your greatest strength. A Allah given talent that He placed in you before you were born. A talent to serve the almighty for a specific purpose. If silence allows you to seek Him, waiting causes you to understand Him. So question not the wait, but thank the wait. It teaches you that no matter how much you try, you cannot change Allah’s timing. It teaches you that no matter how much you nag Allah, if your character is not in accordance with his message, He will not grant you your prayers until you change your heart to be deserving of His blessings. The silence of Allah is great indicator of His love for you, but the waiting is a great indicator of the trust and future He has for you. If you have been waiting for a long time and you are content with the lord, that is a sign that He is content with your condition. Tully, when you can wait with a quiet heart, you know Allah has done a great work in you. And it is only then that the lord will be responsive and you will get more than you have asked for. For indeed, what we asked for was too small. Allah wants to reward us with greater things. And now it will be your turn. So curse not the silence, embrace it. Use it to prepare yourself when you need to be noisy for others. Use silence to teach you the difference between good noise and bad noise. Know that Allah timing is perfect. The silence is perfectly suited for the dreams He has for you. He knows where we should be in life, and silence is what we need. Waiting is great indicator that Allah has a plan for us, and our dreams may not be according to His plan. It can be because we wanted to jump ahead of His plan while things may not be perfectly suited at that time. Allahs will has to be done. Even though it may not be the way you desire it or expect it. The waiting is needed to precisely to align His will with your destiny. While waiting on allah, we can be of service to Him. So dont just sit and wait, be of service to Him. Ask Him to use you with the talents he has bestowed in you. You will be amazed of what you can do.Silence may also be Allahs answer to you. It may be that Allah’s is waiting for you to get going. You may not have done anything to deserve what you asked for. For indeed, Allahs helps those who helps themselves. Whatever your condition is, you should know where you stand. You should know what you are made of. You should know that what you ask may not be what you need. It may be out of His will for your life. In time while waiting, you shall understand what waiting means. Waiting is a season of preparation. It is a season of renewal for your continued blessings that Allahs prepared for you. When Allah waits, it is so everything is perfect. Allah takes the time to do everything right. So dont rush Him for He will not come through. You will only frustrate yourself. Learn to wait and enjoy your life while He works in you. Accept that waiting is a process and that the almighty is working in you. Give yourself contentment. Enjoy the process.I really like the quote from G. Campbell Morgan, as has said: “Waiting for God is not going to sleep. Waiting for God is not the abandonment of effort. Waiting for God means, first, activity under command; second, readiness for any new command that may come; third, the ability to do nothing until the command is given.”Only you should understand the meaning of waiting in your life. Only you can understand that waiting is not Gods denial, but blessings suited best for your time. So Seek Gods help with patience, perseverance, and prayer. (Quran 2:45), and Wait patiently for the Decision of your Lord. (Quran 52:48). And when the timing is right, god simply says: Be and it is. (Quran 36:82)Remember, when God says wait, He is really saying: Im working in your blessings!
