The past few days we visited the Imperial War Museum where we saw the holocaust exhibition. It was very sad to learn the full stories of what happened at concentration camps and how people were tortured and forced to work. It was an eye opening experience. On 11 Sep, we visited the Shakespeare globe theatre and learnt about how the building was built as well as the plays held in there. That place is very historic although it wasnt the original theatre but it was built using the materials and the methods available then during Shakesperes time. After which, we went to the queens theatre to watch the Les Miserables musical. The musical was soooo good. The actors were brilliant, so were their vocals. I had a really really good time. Yesterday, we visited the Bank of England where we learned how the UK protects their currency from forgery using watermarks and micro numbers. Then we went to the British Library where we attended a mapping workshop. From the workshop, I learned that maps are not true documents as it depends on what the cartographer wants people to see. Furthermore, I learnt how to interpret maps and their purposes through inference. I found out more about mapping than I did initially. I really enjoyed and learnt a lot during the workshop. We went to Cambridge university today to see the campus and it was magnificent. It was an extreme privilege to have had a chance to visit one of the best universities in the world. The way they lived and the stories at the school and how they moved around on bicycles only was really interesting. Excited for the Jack the Ripper tour later!
