The past few weeks, I have been wrestling with a very difficult decision. The Az Hitching Post has been a labor of love. The paper has never produced any real profit at the end of each month, but I felt that as long as the income paid the printing bill, I would continue to publish. Unfortunately, with 7 equine magazines now printing in the Phoenix area, the competition for advertisers has become difficult and I have used personal funds to support this endeavor. I just dont have deep enough pockets to continue doing that and, even more importantly, that is not a sound business decision. I have operated without a financial backer and have never asked for (nor would accept) any donations to keep this paper alive. With that in mind, I have come to the decision, very regretfully, that the October issue was the last printed edition of the AZ Hitching Post. Any advertisers that have paid in advance will receive a refund. The AZHP will become an online edition focusing on articles, photos and events. The site will be updated daily, promoted heavily in social media and accessible from your computer or phone. More information will follow as the details are worked out.
