The past five days have been the most challanging we have ever faced. Indies leukaemia is back and its very aggresive. Due to the fact Indie has relapsed only four months post transplant she is unable to have another transplant or have chemotherapy for another 4-6 months. Her body wont be able to handle the toxicity in such a short space of time. Our only option available is to have infusions of T Cells (killer cells). We hope and pray that these infusions will either kill the new leukaemia cells, lower the level of leukaemia or not let the level increase at the least. After the infusion her bone marrow will then be tested a month later. Its very hard to stay positive but we are trying our best. We were scheduled to have her first infusion last Friday and just our luck a minute before the infusion was to happen Indie started shaking soon followed by a fever. Since then we have been in hospital with two confirmed bugs in Indies central line. We are hoping on Friday she will be well enough to begin. We have been getting gate passes in the afternoon where Indie gets to boss around her Aunty Sandie who is visiting at the moment. The Doctors have told us to spend some quality time with Indie over the next two months, doing things we have been putting off and enjoy her while she is well.
