The people who seem the least attractive are often the people who need attention the most. I was at Coles today and a visibly drunk guy asked me where the capsicums were. I pointed to them and he wandered off to get one. Then he came back and asked if I could see the peppers, so I pointed to those as well. Then he asked if I could see how much they were, and I told him. And we got talking about the price of vegetables. He told me about his legendary lasagne, and about his mates record-breaking spicy peppers. And then he got talking about other stuff as well, which I wont divulge because hes as entitled to confidentiality as anyone else. Then he gave me a hug and kissed my cheek and thanked me for talking to him, before wandering away. As I watched him go, I noticed a woman giving him disapproving looks, and then she looked at me and glared. So I smiled back. Yes, hed had too much to drink... but he was a lovely bloke and, most importantly, a human being deserving of value.
