The people who try to convince us that there are no such things as absolute truths in life dont realize that regardless of if you believe in God or not, every worldview takes you to a place where you are convinced something is true to the point that you believe any opposing view is wrong, regardless of what anyone else may say. That is an absolute. For the skeptics, that absolute belief is that their reasoning about life should be absolutely trusted by everyone else and that belief in God is illogical ( treating their understanding of logic as absolute.) For the ones who believe all religions lead to God and that no one path takes you to heaven, the absolute belief is that they have the one and only correct understanding of who God is and it is their path you must take to really understand Him. In the end, it really isnt a question of whether or not you believe in absolute truth. Its only a question of whose absolute you buy into. With all the turmoil that clashing human opinion had caused this nations government in the last few weeks, I have understood even more why I will never accept human opinion or reasoning as the absolute I shape my life around. When youre picking an absolute to shape your life and reasoning around, choose the one offered to you by the absolute Creator who gave you the ability to think and reason in the first place.
