The photo on the left below----of my older brother David Sauvé---was taken at Long Binh, Vietnam---some 45years ago. He went there to serve his country and, luckily, was one of those who returned. I took him (courtesy of the magic of frequent flier miles and a better economy) one Veterans Day a few years back (about 20?) to Washington D.C. for the Holiday festivities. (In fact---we were SO overwhelmed by the whole thing, we went back a few years later) The photo on the right below shows me in front of, what is known as, The Wall. That stunned look on my face? I had just located a former band members name on the wall in front of me. Until I stood there in front of that black marble edifice and saw the seemingly endless list of names of those who had NOT returned, it had only been a number. See all of those lines of words on the surface? ALL names of people of MY age and generation. So---my thoughts AGAIN return, on Veterans Day, to all those who have served in our Military with a special thanks to my brother and our Dad--Francis A. Sauve, before him.
