The plan calls for US immigration officials, as well as UN officials, to interview and screen applicants in their home countries, and then fly them into the US, where they will be placed with family, friends, or a sponsor, at taxpayer expense, of course. The New York Times is reporting an Obama administration plan that would cut out the smugglers and coyotes as the middle men of the illegal immigration business, and take over operations themselves.
