The political debate continues to rage about our southern border, security, and our relationships to Mexico and Central American nations. Neither Republicans nor Democrats have plans that will both secure the border and preserve for Mexicans and Central American nations incentives to stay home and build prosperity for their own people. People want to come to the United States for a reason! We need to commit to helping these nations build hope, security, prosperity, and peace at home. So, if we want peace and security at home, we must help our neighbors to the south to gain the tools that will help them help themselves. We are going to have to treat them with the respect that we do our European partners. That has never happened. It is time that it happened now. And part of that is helping them eliminate corruption in their government and control by the gangs and the cartels. A sound foreign policy with Mexico and Central American nations must include these commitments to bringing both prosperity and peace to out hemisphere. Check our part B, paragraph VI, Section 1.
