The popularity of biodiesel as a substitute to petroleum-based fuel has increased over the last decade. Nowadays, many people have been using it rather than diesel and gasoline. This fuel type is made of vegetable oil instead of petroleum. It makes use of esters found in vegetable oil. Transesterification is the name of the process used to convert oil into biodiesel. Biodiesel’s popularity is due to two reasons. The main reason is the low cost of producing this type of fuel. There is no doubt that the prices of diesel and gasoline have been hurting the pockets of majority of people worldwide. By using biodiesel, lots of money is saved. This money could be used for other important things.
